800 Degrees

I'm not talking about the weather, here. On my first REAL night out in Los Angeles, I went out to dinner with my cousin, Reece. I feel like he's probably the cousin that I talk to the most so it's really nice that he lives on UCLA campus ten minutes away!

He showed me around Westwood, and we ended up going to this pizza place called 800 degrees. It's a gourmet pizza place, with real brick ovens and the most delicious ingredients! I figured it was delicious because the line to get in the restaurant was spilling out the door and down the street. The line moved pretty quickly and it was totally worth the wait! They have a line of chefs adding things to your pizza, so you start with the sauce and then add whatever toppings you want. Then they bake it in the oven and bring it out to you. It's pretty cool. They have salads and other things too but I jut wanted to try the pizza. It was SO good.

Since I eat like a health food junkie, I'm used to good, clean food, so I was a little apprehensive. Plus, I'm kind of a pizza snob, since my visit to Italy two summers ago, where I was introduced to good pizza everywhere. But 800 degrees doesn't disappoint! Anyway, it was fun to get out of the house and see some people other than the family I nanny for. Not that I don't love them, I just was ready for a little adventure. We'll see where I go next!

UTAH ---> LA

I've been living in Los Angeles, California for exactly three days. The only thing people seem to be asking me is: "What is a girl from Utah doing in LA?" And quite honestly, I'm not really sure yet. A family splitting their time in Park City, Utah and Los Angeles, California began looking for a new nanny, and somehow they found me. So I packed my bags, and headed out here to work for them. I've been a nanny for various families for quite some time, and I absolutely love every second of it! Throw in some travel perks and you can call me one happy camper. I guess that's what originally piqued my interest in this job- after all, I had two really great, career-oriented jobs and a semester of school to finish, and yet I put it all on hold to go on this small adventure. So here I am, in LA, and you better believe I'm going to make the most of it!

Something you need to know: I will never talk about the family I live with and nanny for. Sorry, but these children are small, innocent, and not mine; and the parents would probably appreciate it if I didn't clue the world in on their personal lives. I'm only trying to protect everyone involved! All you need to know is that they are very adorable, sometimes picky eaters, and live the most charming lifestyle known to man-kind.

Bottom-line, this blog isn't about them- it's about the cool things I see, love, and experience every day. Sometimes I'll travel, sometimes I'll check out a new restaurant, and sometimes I'll let you know why I love or hate random things. You'll hear about it all! I'll try to post daily, or at least regularly, but I can't make any promises, because I don't know where this new life is taking me! And that is my introduction to you. Check back in for new, exciting stories soon!
